Juventus ‘make contact with Chelsea boss Sarri’ over vacant manager job following Allegri’s exit

Abramovich held rare face-to-face talks with the 60-year-old last week over Sarri's future

CHELSEA boss Maurizio Sarri is holding talks to become the new Juventus boss, according to reports.

The Old Lady announced yesterday that manager Massimiliano Allegri is leaving the club after leading them to his fifth straight Serie A title.

Sarri's future at Stamford Bridge remains unknown as he gears up his side for the Europa League final against Arsenal.

His Champions League qualification with the Blues has encouraged Roman Abramovich to keep him at the club but big question marks remain over their style of play.

Chelsea's two window transfer ban could also have an impact on whether Sarri decides to stay at the club.

According to Italian publication SNAI, Juve have already made contact with the Italian after having approaches rejected by Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola.

Sarri is highly regarded in Italy having worked wonders with Napoli by pushing Juventus all the way to the title in the 2017-18 season.

Abramovich held rare face-to-face talks with the 60-year-old last week over his future and Sarri wants a decision ironed out immediately after the Europa League final.

The Italian also remains concerned that 11 of his backroom staff haven't been offered new deals yet despite their contracts expiring this summer.

When quizzed on whether he will stay at Chelsea, Sarri said: "I think so [I will still be here], but I am not sure.

"I can say only that the club asked me for the Champions League, and we reached the target.

"As you know very well, I love English football. I love the Premier League; it’s fantastic and the level is the best in the world, I think. The atmosphere in the stadiums is wonderful. I would like very much to stay here."
