CHELSEA fans are convinced the club will undergo a transfer ban this summer after keeper Willy Caballero was handed a new deal.

The Argentine stopper, 37, has joined Olivier Giroud by penning a one-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have a two window transfer ban looming after breaching 29 regulations over transferring minors.

They are set to appeal the ruling although it appears likely they won't be able to land any new signings for at least this summer.

And it appears supporters appear resigned to the fact that, apart from the addition of Christian Pulisic, there won't be any new faces on the field by the start of next season.

After announcing Caballero's new deal, one fan said: "In other words - We will be serving our ban."

Another said: "Short-term thinking here. Looks like we've got the ban then."

A third simply added: "Transfer ban confirmed."

Chelsea are considering accepting a transfer ban in a bid to ensure they can buy again in January.

Defender David Luiz, who was expected to leave the club, has also penned a new one year extension.

There is also an expectation that a number of the club’s on-loan stars such as Tammy Abrahams, Reece James, Fikayo Tomori, Kurt Zouma and Mason Mount will be part of the first team squad next term.
