Lampard, Vieira and Nuno… Chelsea’s shortlist of managers to replace Juventus-bound Sarri

MAURIZIO SARRI could be about to call it a day at Chelsea after just one season in the Premier League.

Sources in Italy claim that the Blues are prepared to let the Italian return to his homeland to take over at Juventus.

He would be replacing Max Allegri, who despite guiding the club to their eighth straight Serie A title, was sacked at the end of the season.

And if Sarri does indeed leave for Juve, Chelsea won't be short of interest in their big job.

The bookies' odds-on favourite is Chelsea hero Frank Lampard, currently managing Championship side Derby.

He has had a fine first season in management, only tinged with disappointment at the end as his team lost to Aston Villa in the play-off final.

Second favourite is the man Sarri could replace at Juventus, Massimiliano Allegri.

He has reportedly been learning English for some time now and previously hinted he would like to take up a job abroad - he is as short as 13/8 in the market.

The third favourite for the job might surprise many - Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira.

The tough tackler was famously loyal to the Gunners and upset Chelsea fans when sent off on two separate occasions during the typically heated encounters.

His odds have come tumbling in, with many bookies pricing him at 7/2.

Next in the betting is Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone at 12/1.

Every time one of Europe's top jobs comes available, it seems the Argentine gets a mention.

He has previously being linked with Arsenal and Manchester United.
