Chelsea star Jorginho says it would be a ‘betrayal’ if Maurizio Sarri left for Juventus

CHELSEA midfielder Jorginho believes Napoli fans could treat a Maurizio Sarri move to Juventus as “betrayal”.

The Italian manager - who steered Chelsea to a third-place finish and Europa League trophy in his first season - has been linked with a move to Turin.

Massimiliano Allegri left Juve after five years in charge and former Napoli boss Sarri is reportedly their No1 target to replace him.

Reports in Italy suggested Sarri’s agent told Chelsea chiefs the Italian manager wanted to be released in order to take over in Turin.

Italy midfielder Jorginho, who Sarri brought to London with him last summer, revealed Napoli fans “could get angry” if the manager made a Serie A return with Juve.

Jorginho said: "It would be sad because I think [Sarri] did a good job.

"We finished third in the Premier League, we won the Europa League and we reached the EFL Cup Final despite all the critics.

"It was a good first season in Chelsea. It would be sad for everyone.

"The Napoli fans still have him in their hearts; it's normal that they could get angry.

"They could treat it as a betrayal; they're like that. We'll see what happens."

Left-back Emerson, who made 27 appearances last season under the Chelsea boss, followed up his Italian team-mate’s comments claiming Sarri “has to stay” at Stamford Bridge.

Emerson said: "It's difficult to talk about that. I think he had - and we had - a good season.

"It's not been easy, but he has to stay at Chelsea. Never say never in football, though. We have to keep on doing our job."
