Man Utd interested in Real Madrid keeper Keylor Navas… four years after infamous fax blunder KO’d David De Gea swap transfer
MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly interested in nabbing Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
The 32-year-old almost joined the Red Devils in a swap deal for David De Gea on deadline day four years ago, only for a fax machine blunder to scupper the transfer.
United took eight hours to send the contracts back to Madrid due to negotiations with Navas' representatives, which eventually led to Real missing out on signing De Gea by two minutes.
The Costa Rica international is set to leave the Bernabeu in the summer after finding himself behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order following the Belgian's arrival last year.
Navas featured in just ten La Liga games during the 2018/19 season after losing his place in the starting XI.
According to , Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are one of a number of clubs that are looking to lure the three-time Champions League winner away from Spain.
Porto and Benfica are both monitoring his situation as well as Paris Saint-Germain, but the temptation to play in the Premier League could be too hard to resist for Navas.
The ex-Levante shot-stopper could replace De Gea at Old Trafford with the Spaniard a target for PSG.
