Chelsea fans overjoyed they’ve ‘screwed’ £130m out of Real Madrid for Eden Hazard and hail ruthless Marina Granovskaia
CHELSEA fans gutted by Eden Hazard leaving have hailed ruthless director Marina Granovskaia for "screwing" Real Madrid for a potential £130million fee.
Many supporters are incredulous the La Liga giants have agreed to pay £88.5m plus up to £41.5m in add-ons for a 28-year-old who has just one year left on his Blues' deal.
Granovskaia was praised for her negotiating skills, with one fan posting: "£130m for a player with only a year left. I wonder if we will ever see something like this ever again?
"[Alexis] Sanchez was very good the season before he went to Man U, but if I recall correctly Man U refused to pay the £40m."
Another supporter argued: "Hazard is a great player, but that fee for him with only 1 year left is f*****g massive.
And this social media message spoke for many: "If there's one thing Marina is good at, its squeezing every last cent out of player sales."
Many such fans are now hoping Granovskaia can pull off another blinder - by persuading Atletico Madrid to pay a huge sum to make Spain striker Alvaro Morata's loan deal permanent.
One said: "Now to get to her to fleece Atletico for Alonso and get them to buy Morata."
Some supporters, though, focused on Hazard being irreplaceable, whatever the fee.
The Belgium superstar has arguably been the Premier League's finest playmaker for at least half of his eight years at Stamford Bridge.
And a few fans believe the overall fee is no less than Chelsea deserve.
This post summed up that view: "Even with the add-ons, seems like a fair agreement.
"They get their base pay price, we get our valuation if he pops-off like we all know he will."

Another Chelsea fan suggested Hazard alone would be unable to put Real back on top of the tree - so getting all of the additional £41.5m might be touigher than expected.
That message read: "I guess the most of the add-on money will have conditions like winning the league and/or the UCL.
"I would still say Barca is more likely to win the league and the UCL will be even harder... Don't know if we will get the rest so easily."
