And despite his issues off the pitch, the highly-rated forward still hit 11 goals in 31 games for the Blue Hawks.

The Gunners were close to landing the 25-year-old Belgian international in January, but signed flop Denis Suarez from Barcelona instead.

Arsenal chief Unai Emery is looking to add a wide man this summer and Corrasco, currently on international duty for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Scotland, has made it clear he wants out of China.

He told Belgian website : "There is now an offer on the table and the negotiations with my agent are progressing well.

"I am the most important player in the club, but I hope the chairman understands me.

"From a family point of view, I would rather play in Europe and stay closer to my family.

“The adjustment for my family was also difficult over there - my wish now is to return."

FANCIES PLAYING IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE

Carrasco exclusively told SunSport last month he would love a crack at the Premier League, putting the North London side on red alert.

He said: “All the people know England is one of the best championships in the world, it’s a big competition.

“The players who play in the Premier League tell me it is a physical league, strong, but you also have a lot of space.

“Sometimes when you play in other countries you do not have a lot of space but in England it is open, the play is up and down the pitch.

“That would suit me. I think I can play in a lot of competitions in the world, I can attack and also I can defend.

“With the national team I play as a winger, but also I can play in behind. England would be a good competition for me. I think I would be OK.

“If I have the opportunity to go to England, why not?”

Corrasco moved to China from Atletico Madrid last year and has 31 international caps.
