Man City offer wonderkid Joao Felix, 19, £100k-a-week, five-year deal to steal £105m-rated transfer target from under Man Utd’s noses

MANCHESTER CITY have reportedly offered wonderkid Joao Felix a £100k-a-week, five-year deal to steal him from under rivals United's nose.

The Benfica forward, 19, is one of the hottest prospects in Europe and is almost certain to be on the move this summer.

While United appeared to be leading the race, Premier League champions City are set to swoop and blow them out of the water with a £26million contract on the table.

Felix is set to command a £105m transfer fee this summer from one of Europe's giants after an incredible 2018-19 campaign.

The Portuguese ace scored 20 times and added 11 assists as they pipped Porto to the Primeira Liga title and reached the Europa League quarter-finals.

With both City and United set to stump up for Felix's £105m release clause, Benfica now look set to lose their star asset.

INEVITABLE

Recently, Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira admitted the only way they would cling on to Felix would be to sell him, but with a clause stating he would return to the club on loan for the upcoming season.

Vieira claimed: "We sit down with players and they say 'president, I can earn €5million, president, do not make me stay here'.

"Joao Felix had a release clause of €60m and we realised after two or three games that we must increase it to €120m.

"But it is Joao Felix and his family who will decide if he stays.

"If someone bids €120m it is not worth dreaming that he will stay.

"We are trying everything to ensure he stays. But the only way is if we sell him and keep him another year.

"If not, Joao leaves. There is no room to negotiate further. He doesn't want to.

"How will Benfica negotiate with someone after he is given a proposal of €6m after tax?"
