Ajax hero Van de Beek ‘wants to join either Man Utd or Spurs as he eyes Premier League transfer’
AJAX star Donny van de Beek fancies a move to the Premier League to either Manchester United or Tottenham, it's been claimed.
The stylish 22-year-old played a pivotal role last term as Ajax won the Eredivise title and were moments away from a Champions League final appearance against Liverpool.
Van de Beek has an eye for goal scoring 16 goals and laying on 12 assists for Ajax in 47 games last season.
Reports linked the Dutch international to a £45million move to North London as Mauricio Pochettino believes he can help bridge the gap between themselves and the top two of Liverpool and Manchester City.
Respected Dutch football journalist Marcel van der Kraan revealed De Beek is keen on playing in the English top flight next season.
He told : “Van de Beek has his eyes set on the Premier League.
“He is a Premier League type player with an Ajax education and can play in many positions in midfield.
“He wants a move to Man United or Spurs and his agent says if that materialises that would be right up his street.”
Van de Beek could be an ideal replacement for Christian Eriksen who wants to leave Spurs this summer.
And if Paul Pogba leaves Old Trafford, the five-cap Dutch international could slot straight into the Frenchman's place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's line-up.
