JUVENTUS have not given up hope of beating a host of European rivals to capture capturing Matthijs de Ligt’s signature this summer.

The Italian giants appeared to be out of the running to secure the Dutch teenager’s services after a stand-out season for his boyhood club Ajax.

La Liga champions Barcelona, Ligue 1 winners Paris Saint-Germain, and the money men of Manchester United are all in the hunt for De Light’s services.

Juventus looked to be out of the running after De Ligt’s agent Mino Raiola was hit with a ban by the Italian FA.

That would have prevented the super-agent from dealing with any Italian club, dashing hopes of bringing De Ligt to Turin.

But the ban has been overturned following Raiola’s successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Now Juve legend and current Vice Chairman Pavel Nedved is reported to have personally taken over the negotiations with Raiola.

The two are set to meet in Monaco to discuss terms on a potential offer, with the 19-year-old De Ligt being valued at upwards of £60 million.

The Ajax skipper is currently on holiday with his girlfriend and has said he will take a decision on his future after returning from his break.
