Man Utd set to offer Paul Pogba £500k per week to stay at Old Trafford and fend off Real Madrid interest
MANCHESTER UNITED will offer Paul Pogba £500,000 per week to stay at the club, according to reports.
The Frenchman, 26, is widely expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after admitting he is ready for a "new challenge".
But according to the , United are trying to pull out all the stops to convince him to make a U-turn and stick with the club.
And increasing his wages from £290,000 per week to just about match those of top-earner Alexis Sanchez is thought to be the way Ed Woodward is plotting to keep Pogba.
The executive vice-chairman knows for all his flaws and the negative impact he can have, Pogba is a valuable asset - both on the football field but also commercially.
That is why the club's official stance is Pogba is not for sale, although they would accept an offer of £150million. His value may even have dropped simply with his comments during his promotional tour in Asia.
Either way, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Woodward will want the decision on his future made by July 1, when the players return for pre-season training.
Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are the three teams being linked with moves for the World Cup winner.
Los Blancos made an opening offer of £90m - just £1m more than United paid for him in 2016 - but that is of course well below United's asking price.
Zinedine Zidane has already spent big money to sign the likes of Eder Militao, Rodrygo Goes, Luka Jovic, Fernald Mendy and Eden Hazard so it is unlikely they will be able to pay another £150m for Pogba.

Manchester United's biggest threat, therefore, could come from PSG who are lining up a bid.
The French side, who have close ties with Pogba's agent Mino Raiola, are considering trying to bring the star back to his hometown of Paris, especially if they decide to sell Neymar.
