claim West Ham chiefs will be happy to sell their star defender to United but want striker Martial to be included in the deal.

Martial struggled for consistency in the starting 11 last season after clashing with ex-manager Jose Mourinho.

The Frenchman, 23, did enjoy more regular involvement under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, though, finishing the season with 38 appearances and 12 goals.

However, United bosses are not interested in selling Martial with forwards Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku both edging towards an Old Trafford exit.

It will leave West Ham demanding £60m for 22-year-old powerhouse Diop - who earned high praise from Mourinho last year.

The French Under-21 star acts as a cheaper alternative to England ace Harry Maguire, who Leicester value at £80m.

Both Manchester clubs are in for the 26-year-old, but Old Trafford chiefs mark him as their No1 target to fill their void at centre-half.

With World Cup winner Paul Pogba revealing he is ready for a “new challenge” and out of favour striker Lukaku set for Inter Milan - the Old Trafford board could receive a boost in transfer funds this summer.
