The French forward scored 14 times in 42 appearances last season but struggled off the field after turning up to training late, eating fast foods and spending too much time playing video games.

Spanish outlet report Dembele’s agent Moussa Sissoko will meet with President Josep Maria Bartomeu and technical secretary Eric Abidal to discuss the player’s future.

It is understood the representatives did not discuss terms for the Frenchman to leave the club - despite Liverpool and PSG both interested in the 22-year-old.

With ex-Barcelona star Neymar linked with a move back to the Nou Camp, Dembele, who replaced the Brazilian two years ago, is unsure about his future in Spain.

But Marca claim Barcelona chiefs reassured the starlet he is part of their plans next season, reportedly insisting to the player they are "counting on him".

Liverpool have kept tabs on the winger and it is believed Jurgen Klopp has been informed the former Borussia Dortmund is transfer listed.

However, with the possibility of losing Neymar to either Barcelona or Real Madrid, PSG chiefs have also registered interest in Dembele.

Barcelona chiefs are also braced to meet with representatives of Philippe Coutinho, with the Brazilian out of favour with the Spanish champions.

With Neymar and also Atletico Madrid wantaway Antoine Griezmann heavily linked with a Barcelona transfer, it was reported Dembele and Coutinho would be sold to increase funds.

However, the reports in Spain suggest, despite Dembele's disciplinary problems, he will remain with the Spanish champions.
