MANCHESTER CITY are set to sign England star Harry Maguire in a massive transfer blow to arch-rivals United, according to reports.
The Red Devils were ready to pay the £80million Leicester demand for the centre-back.
But according to , Maguire, 26, favours a move to City as he wants to play under Pep Guardiola.
The Premier League champions are looking for a Vincent Kompany replacement after the club legend decided to end his 11-year spell at the Etihad.
And Guardiola thinks that Maguire is the perfect candidate the fill the Belgian defender's shoes.
United were confident of winning the race for the the Foxes star because of City's reluctance to spend big on the centre-back.
Leicester have slapped an £80m price tag on the England star - a sum the Red Devils were willing to pay.
Meanwhile, the Etihad side were believed to value Maguire at £50m.
However, it is understood Leicester and City could find a middle ground and hammer out a £65m deal for the defender.

Maguire is ready for a fresh challenge in his career having spent two stellar seasons at King Power Stadium.
He has become one of the Premier League's top centre-backs since his 17m move from Hull in 2017.
The Foxes defender has also managed to break into the England squad and was one of Gareth Souhgate's main men during the glorious World Cup campaign last year.
