Emmanuel Adebayor in line for shock Premier League return with West Ham, Sheffield Utd and Watford all keen on free transfer
EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR is in line for a shock return to the Premier League.
West Ham, Sheffield United and Watford are looking at the striker, who is a free agent.
The Hammers want a replacement for Andy Carroll and it is understood Adebayor, 35, wants to play in London after spells with Arsenal and Tottenham.
He has not played in England since 2016, when he joined Istanbul Basaksehir after a six-month spell at Crystal Palace.
Celtic are also interested in landing the Togo ace, with a couple of Serie A clubs in the frame as well.
The former Real Madrid star left Basaksehir by mutual consent yesterday.
He scored three goals in 19 appearances for the Turkish side last season.
Adebayor has not played a full 90 minutes since January.
But he was involved in an ugly scuffle with Galatasaray reserve goalkeeper Ismail Cipe in May.
As Galata sealed their Turkish Super Lig trophy in a fierce Istanbul derby, Adebayor was shoved to the bench by the shot-stopper.
