Miller, 39, lost out to James McPake for the manager's job after Jim McIntyre was sacked.

The veteran striker is now on the verge of agreeing a deal to quit the Championship outfit ahead of the new campaign.

Miller started last season as manager of Livingston before Neil McCann took him to Dens Park.

But he’s determined to find a new club and continue playing beyond his 40th birthday in December.

The super-fit and vastly experienced hitman is certain to have a number of signing option when he becomes available for free.

Dundee, meanwhile, have continued talks with Gordon Strachan over a Technical Director role.

As SunSport first revealed, the Dark Blues want the former Scotland boss to oversee the club's youth structure.

Strachan met with chief executive John Nelms last week but as yet no deal has been struck.
