Lucas Torriera ‘not agitating for Arsenal exit’ despite AC Milan making midfielder ‘priority’ transfer target
LUCAS TORREIRA is not actively trying to push for an Arsenal exit this summer, it has been claimed.
AC Milan are keen to sign the Gunners midfielder after appointing Marco Giampaolo as their new boss last week.
There had been reports in Italy suggesting that Torreira was trying to agitate for a move back to Serie A after one season at the Emirates.
But the reports that the 23-year-old is happy with the way things are going at Arsenal and is not desperately trying to engineer a transfer.
The Milan interest grew when Giampaolo stepped in to take charge at the San Siro having moved from Sampdoria.
It was there that the boss worked well with Torreira before his £25million move to the Premier League 12 months ago.
And further fuel was added to the speculation last week when the player himself admitted he had struggled to adapt to the new language in the UK.
He said the wet and cold weather was also something he was having difficulty adapting to as he prepared for the beginning of the Copa America in Brazil.
But though he admitted to some difficulty, the report claims Torreira is perfectly happy with the way he performed for Arsenal in his first year in the country.

And that he would be more than happy to be part of Unai Emery's plans again next season as the club try to claw their way back into a top four finish.
Emery's problem is the lack of funds available to him to make changes to a squad that was found wanting last season.
And if Milan were to come in with a bid of around £40m for Torreira, he would find it hard to turn down because it could free him up to sign other players.
