New Arsenal kit leaked in brilliant advert featuring Idris Elba where stars sound like they’re speaking in North London accent
ARSENAL’S video releasing their new kit appears to have been leaked – and it’s a classic.
The brilliant advert is all about being ‘made in London’ with Ian Wright providing the narrative and Idris Elba making a guest appearance.
The former England striker seemed to let out the secret of Arsenal’s new kit last month when he uploaded a picture of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in new Gunners strips.
Adidas have taken over the responsibilities from Puma for the new season and look intent on causing a splash.
It appears the retro-looking home kit Wright released and then deleted – which is allegedly in the Emirates Stadium store ready to fly off the shelves – was indeed the home shirt for the 2019/20 season.
In the two-minute advert, a number of first-team stars feature – but despite their various nationalities and accents, their voices have cleverly been dubbed over by North Londoners.
It all starts in a barbers with Mesut Ozil getting a trim. He says: “Looks fresh bruv.”
The German is accompanied by Bosnian-Londoner Sead Kolasinac, who hilariously added: “Yes, my g. That is flames you know.”
After a few snapshots around Arsenal, including a cafe, Wrighty enters the fray, looking dapper as usual in a suit and hat.
He says: “Let me tell you something. You ain’t born a Londoner, you’re made one.”
What can I say man, North London is home.
Hector Bellerin
Aubameyang and Lacazette head out for a traditional Full English before Jeremy Lynch from the F2 Freestylers joins Wrighty on the pavement and the former Three Lions forward walks past Highbury and references the Invincibles.
Alex Iwobi and Matteo Guendouzi are on Facetime to each other before Ozil laughs at Tony Adams for being “on a mad ting”.
“True dat, fam,” comes Kolasinac’s witty reply.
Then it’s time for Elba.
He boasts about his goalscoring record for Canning Town Under-9s – suggesting he could have made the grade for his beloved Gooners.
A five-a-side game in a cage soon fades into a dressing room with London’s finest Laurent Koscielny giving a motivational team talk.
The skipper – who will be leading his team in the Europa League next season – boldly says: “We play for the badge. We go all the way. Remember, we run North London.”
Adopted Londoner Hector Bellerin – with his own unique blended accent of Barcelona and N5 – adds in a press conference, wearing what could be the new training jacket: “What can I say man, North London is home.”
The advert comically ends with a kid heckling Wright, who responds by telling him to “go brush your teeth.”
Right, Wrighty…
