ARSENAL could bolster their forward line with the addition of Monaco forward Keita Balde, according to reports.

The 24-year-old is free to leave the French club after returning from his loan spell with Inter Milan last season.

Balde, a Senegal international, was on the fringes of the first team last season making 24 league appearances although just eight of those were starts.

According to French publication Le 10 Sport, Gunners boss Unai Emery is considering landing the player as backup to Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Spaniard wants to bring in a fresh face following the departure of Danny Welbeck on a free transfer.

And with Arsenal's strict summer transfer budget, Balde's signature won't break the bank.

Inter could have had the option to sign the former Lazio man for £26million but new manager Antonio Conte wants to press on with his own transfer targets.

And that includes Manchester United man Romelu Lukaku, who remains at the top of his transfer wishlist.

The Belgium international is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer and agent Federico Pastorello confirmed the San Siro club are trying to strike a deal to lure Lukaku to Italy.

Lukaku managed 15 goals last season but has struggled to live up to his £75million price tag.

And with Marcus Rashford often preferred as the central striker by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he sees his future elsewhere.
