Chelsea opt against Gonzalo Higuain deal as flop’s loan ends and agent confirms Juventus stay

GONZALO HIGUAIN’s time at Chelsea is done and he will be playing for Juventus next season, according to agent and brother Nicola.
Chelsea have opted against signing Higuain on a permanent deal and he will now see out the remaining two years of his Turin contract alongside ex-Blues boss Maurizio Sarri.
Higuain's London loan nightmare officially ended today.
And he will be hoping to draw a line under a dismal season, which also saw him fail to succeed at AC Milan, by starring under Sarri at the Allianz Stadium next term.
Higuain, 31, moved to Stamford Bridge on a six-month loan deal in January to replace Alvaro Morata after flopping at the San Siro.
The Argentine hitman was expected to be the answer to Sarri’s problems in attack, but struggled for consistent form as he ended up netting just five goals in 18 appearances.
Chelsea had the option to either extend his loan by another season or sign him on a long-term deal, with fellow loanee Mateo Kovacic snapped up from Real Madrid for £40million.
But Higuain has now returned to Juventus, where he is hoping to play a significant role under Sarri – who ditched the Blues after winning the Europa League in May.
There had been rumblings in the Italian press that Higuain could yet depart for another Serie A club.
But his agent insists the striker only has eyes for Juventus and good friend Sarri.

But there is a possibility that Morata will be back in West London with loan club Atletico Madrid needing to pay £50m for his signature this summer.
