David de Gea returns to Man Utd for pre-season after being offered world record £350k-a-week ‘take it or leave it’ deal

MANCHESTER UNITED have offered David De Gea one final £350,000-a-week deal in a desperate bid to keep him at the club.
The Red Devils have caved into his demands for a bumper pay rise as he enters the final year of his contract.
United had initially offered him a £300,000-a-week deal which is a huge increase on his current £200,000 pay cheque.
The new offer on the table will make him the highest paid goalkeeper in world football.
But they won't go a penny higher and have told the 28-year-old to "take it or leave it."
De Gea has so far refused to commit to a long-term contract following interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spaniard has also been able to use Alexis Sanchez's huge £505,000-a-week wage as a benchmark to agreeing a new deal.
It is believed the offer will be for a four-year contract — with an option on the club’s side to trigger a further year.
It comes on the back of Marcus Rashford's staggering £300,000-a-week deal.
De Gea, whose form worryingly dropped off a cliff last season, returned to pre-season training for the first time today ahead of the upcoming campaign.
He was handed an extra couple of days off due to his international commitments with Spain following their European Championship qualifying matches.
Back in Carrington, the hard work will now get underway ahead of a hectic pre-season that will see the squad jet off to Australia, China, Singapore and Wales.
