TERRY MCPHILLIPS quit as Blackpool boss after weeks of talking about a new contract.
McPhillips shocked the new Seasiders regime when he told them that he did not plan to continue in first team management.
The former assistant to Gary Bowyer had started his new career well and was hoping to be rewarded with a long term deal.
However McPhillips had a change of heart despite making several signing and telling the squad that he would be in charge for their pre-season trip to Scotland.
Blackpool have already met potential successor Simon Grayson, who is ready to return to Blackpool.
Grayson could be installed over the weekend at the club where he began his managerial career.
