BRUNO FERNANDES expects to complete his transfer to Manchester United "sooner rather than later", according to reports.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side look set to beat a number of their Premier League rivals to the 24-year-old's signature this summer.
According to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha, Fernandes has remained "calm" about the situation.
It is reported that Fernandes is confident of completing his switch to Old Trafford despite the speculation surrounding his transfer fee.
United are yet to file a bid to Sporting CP, but are understood to be "formulating a proposal".
Fernandes has attracted a wide range of interest after scoring 31 goals in all competitions for the Portuguese side last season.
Liverpool and Tottenham have both been linked to him, but United remain in pole position.
His agent allegedly jetted to London last week to thrash out a deal with the Reds before their pre-season tour of Australia.
It was reported that that Solskjaer's side have "reached an agreement" with Sporting Lisbon for him.
The move has not yet been finalised amid claims that Sporting will demand £70m for the 13-cap Portugal international.
But Fernandes appeared to post a farewell message to his colleagues at Sporting CP after he won the Primeira Liga Player of the Year award for the second year running.
He wrote on Instagram: "Very happy for the MVP's second consecutive MVP award!
"I thank all the captains and coaches who voted for me, as well as my mates, staff for their contribution throughout the season."
