Sheffield United make £3m offer for Nottingham Forest midfielder Ben Osborn
PREM new boys Sheffield United are trying to snatch Ben Osborn from Nottingham Forest.
Boss Chris Wilder has tabled an offer of £3 million for the industrious midfielder.
Osborn could get a crack at the top flight if the fee is accepted.
But Forest want around twice as much for the 24-year-old who is in the last year of his contract.
Wilder is saving his big money for a striker and has made a record £10m bid for for Swansea goal machine Oli McBurnie.
McBurnie wants to play in the top flight and the Blades are favourites to sign him despite the interest of former boss Graham Potter at Brighton.
Swansea want more cash but the American owners need to claw back cash and McBurnie is their most sellable asset after the sale of Dan James to Manchester United.
The Blades have also been linked with a move for Brentford’s Neal Maupay, with the Bees looking for a record £22m.
That record was recently set when Like Freeman arrived from QPR earlier this week.
Ravel Morrison, the former Man United and West Ham midfielder, has also been training with the club.
