Solskjaer ruins Man Utd fans’ day by revealing Sanchez will be fit for the start of the season
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has revealed Alexis Sanchez should be back fit before the end of Manchester United’s pre-season – ruining supporters’ day.
The £505k-a-week Chilean, 30, hurt his hamstring during his country’s Copa America clash against Argentina last week.
But the striker, who has endured a miserable time on and off the pitch at Old Trafford since his move from Arsenal in January 2018, is not expected to be out too long.
United boss Solskjaer said this morning ahead of the first match of their Australian Tour against Perth Glory: “I don't think Alexis's injury was too bad.
“When he's due back is three weeks after his last game, so that will be just after we come back from tour.
“I would expect him to be fit enough to play straightaway and train straightaway.”
United teased the update on Twitter with this message: “Ole has predicted when @Alexis_Sanchez will be available during our pre-season campaign.”
RED BACKLASH
However, what should have been positive news regarding Sanchez was met with a rather different response from fans.
“If it’s not never, I’m not interested,” instantly replied one.
Another blasted: “No one cares he is as useful as a chocolate teapot.”
A fellow Red Devil wrote: “FFS just sell this guy.”
“Whoo cares ??? Liability,” declared another United follower while someone else said: “I haven't even seen him since he was at the Emirates.”
While one wishful thinking supporter commented along with a crying emoji: “I thought this was a goodbye Tweet.”
But it did not stop there, with a fan replying with: “Does that mean he is out for the season and get a pay cut to max 100 k a week? Cause if it means he’ll soon be back it’s not positive news!”

While several others just simply told the club to “get rid” and “sell him”.
Sanchez quickly became a Premier League star after moving to London in 2014, scoring 80 goals and grabbing 45 assists for Arsenal in 166 appearances.
But following his United move, he suffered a massive dip in form and has since then netted five times in 45 games for the club.
