Arsenal stuck with Ozil as Fenerbahce can’t afford transfer for £350k-a-week star

FENERBAHCE have ruled themselves out of a move for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil because it would be too expensive.
Unai Emery is looking to offload the £350,000-a-week star this summer to boost his transfer funds after being handed just £45million.
Turkish giants Fenerbahce were reportedly considering an ambitious loan move for the 30-year-old this summer.
But the Super Lig club have confirmed that it is not possible from an "economic" point of view.
A club statement read: "In recent weeks, and especially in the last few days, the necessity of providing information about the claims of Mesut Ozil, which is on the agenda, to clarify the situation has arisen.
"Mesut Ozil, with his career and stance successfully represents our country abroad, is an important value known with the identity of Fenerbahce.
"However, Fenerbahce does not have an initiative for Mesut Ozil.
"Under the current economic conditions, such a step is not possible for both parties.
"Our President, Ali Koç, made statements on the subject in the WinWin programme held on June 20 and emphasised that this could not be realised in the short term.
"We present it to our community and the public."

Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for Ozil, but the club have received very little interest for their highest-paid player.
The German playmaker failed to impress last season after making just 20 starts under Emery.
He has already returned to training with his team-mates ahead of the club's pre-season tour of the United states.
