Man Utd target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic allowed to leave Lazio but Paul Pogba replacement will cost £90m

LAZIO are ready to accept a Manchester United bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, so long as it meets their £90million price tag.

Last summer saw the Red Devils push hard to sign the Serbian midfielder but the Biancocelesti held firm.

And yet, 12 months on, Lazio president Claudio Lotito admits a mega bid could end in a different outcome.

Impressed by how Milinkovic-Savic went about his business following that saga, the club are open to respecting his wishes to leave this time round.

Lotito told Corriere dello Sport: "We have created a glass house and understand that people cannot be forced to play their role in an environment where they feel restricted.

"This is not the case with Sergej. He has showed great affection, responsibility and seriousness.

"It will depend on the events and not on the club.

"Last year I managed to reject the assaults, this year we could propose a matter of respect if the player were to propose a different solution."

POGBA REPLACEMENT

United may well be in the market for a creative central midfielder in the coming weeks.

Real Madrid are not giving up on signing Paul Pogba and the Frenchman's exit would demand a replacement.

In addition, Romelu Lukaku's proposed sale to Inter may bolster the club's coffers sufficiently to meet Lazio's demands.

It is reported that the Serie A side are happy with their price tag of £90m on the 24-year-old, which is lower than the £108m wanted a year ago.

United are understood to value Milinkovic-Savic at around £72m.

Last season, the Serb scored seven and assisted three goals in 41 appearances, netting in the final as Lazio won the Coppa Italia.

Meanwhile, Pogba played the first-half of United's latest pre-season game, beating of Leeds on Wednesday with fans generally impressed by his box-to-box display.
