MANCHESTER UNITED have made a £62million bid for Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Italian reports claim.
Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan are still negotiating a deal with Old Trafford chiefs to sign powerhouse Romelu Lukaku.
With the Belgian set to depart from Manchester, report United have approached Arsenal with a bid to sign Gabon forward Aubameyang.
It is claimed the Gunners received a £62m offer, that they will “resist” in order to keep their top goalscorer from last season.
SunSport revealed Inter will meet the £75m asking price for Lukaku - but only in a deal including bonus payments.
United made it clear to the Italian club that they were not prepared to drop their valuation of the 26-year-old striker.
The Serie A side have now accepted they are going to have to break the bank to bring in Conte’s No1 target.
But they are only in a position to come up with a guaranteed £60m over three years, with the further £15m dependent on how successful Lukaku is at the San Siro.
They are set to propose a down payment of around £40m up front, with the balance spread over the next 24 months.

That would allowed them to absorb the cost across three Financial Fair Play periods.
But rebel striker Mauro Icardi may need to be sold first, with the Argentine left out of Inter's squad for the International Champions Cup.
It is claimed the out of favour forward is threatening to sit out for the remaining two-years left on his San Siro contract.
