Zinedine Zidane confirmed the 30-year-old is "close to leaving" the Bernabeu after he was left out of the club's pre-season defeat to Bayern Munich.

This prompted Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett to hit out at the Frenchman after the comments, labelling the Los Blancos coach a "disgrace".

To resolve the issue, Madrid are willing to tear up the remaining three years of the winger's contract if he agrees on a move to China, according to .

Jiangsu Suning and Beijing Guoan have both been rumoured to be interested in matching Bale's mammoth £600,000 wages.

Ezequiel Lavezzi is currently the highest-paid player in China, with Argentine star commanding a £500k fee at Hebei China Fortune.

Chinese Super League clubs have until their transfer window shuts on July 31 to sign players, meaning both sides have less than 10 days to pull off a deal.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a sensational swap deal that would see Bale head to France and Neymar to the Bernabeu.

The Brazil star is understood to be "desperate" to move back to Spain, with Barcelona being his preferred destination, according to the Independent.

But considering that the La Liga champions are in financial troubles, his camp is understood to be discussing whether a swap for Bale is a viable solution.
