But it is understood the 24-year-old has failed to impress new boss Frank Lampard and report Chelsea are ready to listen to offers for Bakayoko.

The midfielder had hinted at a dream move to French champions PSG earlier in the summer.

And despite early interest from the European giants, it is understood they have now withdrawn desire to sign the ex-Monaco man.

PSG have instead moved for Everton’s Idrissa Gueye.

Milan are still monitoring Bakayoko - who made 42 appearances in Italy last season.

Former San Siro boss Gennaro Gattuso clashed with the Frenchman last season, though the former Italy star has been replaced by Marco Giampaolo.

Lampard has been given a transfer headache the Blues boss has too many non-homegrown players in his team with the deadline day fast approaching.

Uefa rules require clubs to register no more than 17 non-homegrown players for the competition.

But Chelsea have just added American winger Christian Pulisic to their squad.

And the Blues have decided to make Mateo Kovacic's loan move permanent.

Therefore, some of Lampard's aces might be omitted from the squad for the Champions League.

Kurt Zouma, Michy Batshuayi, Davide Zappacosta and Kenedy are also in danger of missing out on Euro fixtures.
