OLE DIGS IN FOR DOUG

Man Utd demand Costa from Juve as part of Lukaku transfer after Dybala snubs Solskjaer

MANCHESTER UNITED want Juventus winger Douglas Costa in part-exchange for Romelu Lukaku, reports say.

The Mail claim Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has switched attention to Costa after the Brazil star's Juve team-mate Paulo Dybala rebuffed United.

Serie A champions Juventus have overtaken Inter Milan in the race to sign Lukaku but want to balance their books.

Tottenham have also been linked with Dybala - but both the Argentina frontman and Costa are hesitant to leave the Allianz Arena.

Solskjaer, though, is keen to find either a replacement for Lukaku if the Belgium forward leaves before the August 31 transfer deadline.

United are already thought to have rejected a £54million bid from Inter for the ex-Chelsea star.

And they are unwilling to accept below £80m for the 26-year-old.

Costa, however, set up a special training programme to boost his chances at Juve.

And it appears United's main strategy for luring him might be to persuade the 28-year-old he would share star billing at the Theatre of Dreams - unlike at Juve, where Cristiano Ronaldo overshadows everyone.

Meanwhile, Dybala is reluctantly considering a Premier League move after just ten goals in 42 games for Juve last term.

Although he is happy in Turin itself, the 25-year-old knows he could slip further out of the spotlight now that his club and country team-mate Gonzalo Higuain has returned from a modest loan spell at Chelsea.
