CALLUM WILSON says 13 is his lucky number — even if it does not look like it.

Wilson has worn the “unlucky” No 13 shirt for the last five seasons at Bournemouth.

And despite two major injuries in that time the Cherries striker, 27, said: “For me it’s been a LUCKY number.

“I got injured in it but I’m not that weak-minded to go and change it just because I’ve had a few injuries.

“Superstition? No. I’ve come back from two ACLs, I’m too strong minded for that!

“To get over those things, you have to be a mentally strong guy.  I’ve been resilient from a young age, overcoming adversity and different things in life meant getting over injuries was easy.

“I feel good now, that’s all behind me, I’m enjoying football again and I feel better every week.

“I scored 14 goals in the league last season but I want more.”

Wilson signed from Coventry in 2014 and hit 20 goals to help Cherries into the top flight.

He suffered two serious cruciate ligament injuries in 2015 and 2017 but returned to become the first Bournemouth player to score for England.

Wilson signed a new four-year contract earlier this month despite talk of a big-money move.

He added: “Signing was a no-brainer.

“My agent kept me away from all the other links but Bournemouth have stood by me and gave me the opportunity — now I want to get my head down and work hard.”
