Premier League injured XI includes Chelsea star Hudson-Odoi, Man Utd ace Bailly and Arsenal’s Bellerin

MANCHESTER UNITED, Chelsea and Arsenal all face going into the opening day of the Premier League season with injury concerns.

In fact, a host of top talent is set to miss the curtain-raiser through injury - some frustratingly sustained during the pre-season "friendlies".

With that in mind, we've put together an injured XI of stars set to miss the opening day of the season - or at least be a last-minute call.

In goal, Schalke star Ralf Fahrmann has been suffering from muscular problems since May - despite sealing a loan move to newly-promoted Norwich this summer.

In defence, Eric Bailly headlines the back-three, having been taken off on a stretcher in Man Utd's friendly against Tottenham.

He was later pictured in a wheelchair and wearing a leg brace and looks unlikely to be fit for the first game of 2019-20 against Chelsea.

INJURY HELL

Blues ace Antonio Rudiger and Arsenal defender Rob Holding (both knee) are both long-term casualties - although the Gunners defender played for the Under-23s this weekend as he steps up his preparation.

Hector Bellerin is another long-term Gunners absentee as he prepares to start the season on the sidelines having ruptured his cruciate ligament last season.

Charlie Daniels - yet another to fall foul of a knee injury - will miss Bournemouth's season-opener.

In a star-studded midfield three, Chelsea pair Ruben Loftus-Cheek and N'Golo Kante could miss the opener, with the Frenchman hoping to win his race against the clock.

Everton new-boy Fabian Delph completes the midfield after sustaining an injury just minutes into the friendly against Werder Bremen.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is making great strides in his recovery from a frustrating Achilles tendon rupture - but the game against Man Utd will come too soon.

More recently, Alexandre Lacazette handed Arsenal a massive setback after going off injured in the 13th minute of the friendly against Lyon.

The France striker is already training hard to be fit for the game against Newcastle, but Emery has hinted he may miss out.
