CHRISTIAN PULISIC scored twice and won a penalty in a hugely impressive 5-3 win against Red Bull Salzburg.

And while the £58million new boy will grab the headlines, he wasn't the only player in Blue to look mightily impressive in Austria.

Ross Barkley added two assists and a goal in a swashbuckling new role, while Kurt Zouma and Mateo Kovacic continued their fine pre-season form.

Pedro put the icing on the cake in front of the watching Roman Abramovich, scoring a simply incredible back-heel volley.

Here's how Tom Sheen rated the Chelsea players - getting just a bit too excited at a pre-season friendly...

Kepa Arrizabalaga - 7

Had very little to do throughout the game, but pulled off a truly superb save from a Dominik Szoboszlai free-kick.

Could do nothing with the goal.

Cesar Azpilicueta - 7

Comfortable down the right flank, Chelsea's Mr Reliable had little to do and little to worry about.

Kurt Zouma - 8

Continues to make his case that he should a starter even when Antonio Rudiger gets back.

Calm and assured, he outplayed his partner by a long way.

David Luiz - 4

Saved one off the line in the first-half but a poor performance from the Brazilian.

Perhaps the game was too easy for him? Very carless in possession and beaten to the ball for Salzburg's opener.

Emerson Palmieri - 7

Has to start against Manchester United in the Premier League opener.

A real threat going forward and his speed in defence is a must with Lampard wanting to play high and press.

Mateo Kovacic - 7

Getting better and better as pre-season goes on, looks a totally different player under Lampard.

Much more willing to drive forward and his passing is much more progressive.

Jorginho - 6

Playing a different role under Lampard, he's not the focus of the team.

But that's to the benefit of the other ten players in Blue who look much more threatening now that not every action has to run through Jorginho.

Ross Barkley - 9

Wow, looks like a different person.

A coolly taken penalty and two excellent assists would be enough but his general play was sensational, as was his work-rate.

Playing in the no10 role could be the making of him

Pedro - 9

It's a shame this was only pre-season, because Pedro scored one of the best goals of his career.

A simple incredible back-heel volley. He got a lovely assist for Pulisic's opener as well.

Tammy Abraham - 6

Not his best performance with much of the action going on around him, but the big striker is an athletic focal point who puts constant pressure on the defence.

Should have done better with a first-half header.

Christian Pulisic - 9

Fantastic performance with the American getting his first two goals in Blue and winning a penalty.

His speed and directness will make Chelsea a completely threat to last season.

SUBS - Michy Batshuayi - 6

Grabbed a late goal - although did his best first time round to miss it.

Kenedy - 5

Came on with 20 minutes to go, but 4-1 up had little impact on the game.

Fikayo Tomori - 4

Should have done better with the third goal, caught on his heels and failed to cut out a ball over the top.

Mason Mount - 5

Like Kenedy, didn't really have enough time to get into a game that was already over.

Marcos Alonso - 4

His lack of pace should in that third goal - with Tomori beaten, Sekou Koita was too fast for the Spaniard to cover.

Andreas Christensen - 5

Neither of the too late goals were really his fault.

Davide Zappacosta - 3

Came on and gave away a penalty within two minutes. Will always be a liability defensively.
