Chelsea offer 16-year-old Bayern Munich prospect Torben Rhein contract starting in 2020 when transfer ban ends
CHELSEA have reportedly offered Bayern Munich prospect Torben Rhein a contract starting in 2020.
The 16-year-old is one of Germany's biggest starlets having represented his country's Under-16 side on numerous occasions.
The attacking midfielder's contract with Niko Kovac's side expires in summer 2021, but Chelsea are thought to already be tracking his progress.
The Blues have offered Rhein a lucrative professional contract from 2020 and want him in the first team as soon as possible, according to .
Bayern consider him one of the gems of the club's youth system, with the player already establishing himself in Martin Demichelis' U19s this season.
The Bavarian club are still hopeful they will keep hold of Rhein, who netted 12 goals and picked up four assists for the U17s last term.
Bayern spent the last January window attempting to snatch the Stamford Bridge club's top young talent in Callum Hudson-Odoi.
But the youngster committed his future to the Blues earlier this season on a deal running to 2024.
Hudson-Odoi said: "It’s an amazing feeling. It’s been a long wait but it’s done now and I’m really happy about that.
"I’ve been a Chelsea player since I was eight and this is the right club for me to be at.
