Brighton confirm Adam Webster’s £22m transfer from Bristol City as Graham Potter splashes cash
BRIGHTON have confirmed Adam Webster's has joined from Bristol City in a £22million deal.
Seagulls boss Graham Potter has splashed the cash on the in-demand defender, 24, as the domino-effect caused by Harry Maguire's impending £85m move to Man Utd rages on.
Leicester are set to replace Maguire with Brighton star Lewis Dunk, with Potter replacing Dunk with Webster.
Meanwhile, Bristol City hope to replace Webster with Newcastle outcast Ciaran Clark.
On the move, Potter revealed: “Adam is a player the club has been aware of for sometime, and someone we came up against last season at Swansea City.
“He is a quality defender, comfortable on the ball, fits the profile of the type of player we want to bring to the club, and he was very keen to join us.
“He is still relatively young, but has good experience from the number of games he has played.
"Predominately a centre-half, he can also play at right-back, and he will bring additional competition alongside our existing defensive options.”
