Barcelona vice president rules out transfer swoop for Neymar as dream return hits the buffers
NEYMAR will NOT be returning to Barcelona this summer — according to the Catalan giants' vice-president.
The Brazilian has been pining for a return to the Camp Nou, two years after he left for a world record £198million.
And the Catalan media have been ramping up the transfer, claiming that his return was just days away and that there could be a loan with a permanent move as an option.
But according to the club's second in command Jordi Cardoner, the move is not going to happen.
He said: "As of today, there's no Neymar case, as the president said and it's complicated.
"We are two passive actors. We know he's not happy in Paris and it's a situation that needs to be resolved in Paris.
"We haven't spoken to them.
NEYMAR NEEDS TO SORT IT OUT
"There is a lot of respect between the clubs and if there is a Neymar case one day, we'll talk.
"Today, at this time, it's ruled out."
Neymar has been nursing an ankle injury he picked up just days before the start of the Copa America, meaning he missed Brazil's triumph on home soil.
