EVERTON are reportedly closing in on the signing of Wilfried Zaha after it emerged the winger expects to leave Crystal Palace for Merseyside this week.

Manchester United and Arsenal have been frontrunners in the race for the Ivorian attacker throughout the summer but are set to lose out to the ambitious Toffees, it has been claimed.

According to , Palace are prepared to accept £65million for Zaha.

However, that must come in an up-front payment.

Everton are said to be confident of finding the money but, with no bid officially agreed upon as of yet, the structure of the deal is still being discussed at Goodison Park.

The report claims that Zaha expects the transfer to be completed by this week's transfer deadline, coming at 5pm on Thursday.

Arsenal dropped out of the race to sign the 26-year-old after signing Nicolas Pepe for £72m last week.

While that deal is set to top the price Palace are demanding for Zaha, payments are staggered over five years.

Sun Sport reported last month that Arsenal had approached the Eagles with a similar deal for Zaha - which was laughed off by the Premier League club.

Bayern Munich and Napoli have also been touted for bids, as have transfer-banned Chelsea.

Speculation has mounted that the player wants to leave Selhurst Park having spent all but two years of his career with the club.
