Paulo Dybala’s Man Utd transfer broke down over demand for £13.7m agent payment to buy image rights from third party
PAULO DYBALA'S move to Manchester United broke down after his agent demanded a £13.7million payment to buy image rights from a third party, it has been claimed.
United officials were "disgusted" after Jorge Antun requested the massive payment midway through talks in London.
Now the claim it is the very reason the deal - which would have seen Romelu Lukaku move the other way - broke down.
At one stage, United were set to welcome Dybala and Mario Mandzukic - as well as a £10m deal-sweetener - for Lukaku.
Dybala's image rights are currently owned by a third-party - with United said to be unhappy with that.
Agent Antun claimed he would negotiate the deal but insisted on a £13.7m payment for his services.
"DISGUSTING"
United called that request "disgusting" and it was then revealed the agent had requested the fee without even speaking to the company who own Dybala's image rights.
Old Trafford chiefs were planning to fly out to Italy to thrash out a deal - but swiftly cancelled their flight after Antun's stunt.
Reports also suggested Dybala wasn't too keen on leaving Juventus and would only do so for a massive financial bonus.
The Argentine, 25, had demanded £350,000-a-week, putting him on par with some of United's top earners.

However, many Red Devils stars had seen a 25 per cent cut in their wages after failing to qualify for this season's Champions League.
Last week, Sky Sports Italia claimed Dybala has been forced to train on his own and been put on the transfer list in order to force him out.
But now, the Argentine is looking more and more likely to stay at Juve.
