Arsenal pip Wolves to ‘agree personal terms’ with Juventus defender Daniele Rugani

ARSENAL have reportedly agreed personal terms with defender Daniele Rugani .

It is thought to be a loan move which could become permanent in the future with a £40million fee on the Juventus man.

The Gunners have seemingly beaten Premier League rivals Wolves to the signing of 25-year-old Rugani, according to .

Arsenal had been aiming for a two-year loan deal with an option to buy the Italian after losing captain Laurent Koscielny.

Frenchman Koscielny, who refused to travel for the club's pre-season tour, has completed a $4.6million move to Bordeaux.

Arsenal have been on the hunt for a replacement ahead of the transfer window closing on Thursday evening.

Barcelona's Samuel Umtiti has been linked with a move to the Emirates, as well as RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano.

Leipzig are believed to have demanded Emile Smith Rowe as part of the deal for Upamecano, having already rejected a £55m offer.

Rugani emerged as the most possible signing after Juventus told him he was surplus to requirements after signing Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax for £67.5m.

Manchester United has also shown interest in the defender but no formal offer was made.

The Red Devils have since signed Harry Maguire from Leicester for a world record £85m fee.
