TOTTENHAM have agreed a £55million fee with Real Betis for midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.
The Londoners are desperate for re-reinforcements and could be in for a busy final 24 hours until the transfer window slams shut.
Mauricio Pochettino is believed to have had Lo Celso at the top of his shortlist for a number of months, and he will be hoping the deal can get over the line.
Spurs reportedly agreed a loan deal with Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho on Wednesday, only to be turned down by the former Liverpool ace.
And that has now prompted last year's defeated Champions League finalists to up their pursuit of Lo Celso instead.
The midfielder, 23, is seen by the club as a replacement for Christian Eriksen, 27, who has declared his desire to leave North London.
GOALSCORING MIDFIELDER
Lo Celso scored 16 goals last season for Betis after making a loan switch from Paris Saint-Germain, which became permanent this summer.
Despite the deal becoming permanent, the former Rosario Central ace has not played a competitive game for Betis after being owned by them.
He has been enjoying time in his native country of Argentina after helping them reach the Copa America semi-finals, where they were eliminated by hosts Brazil.
