MANCHESTER UNITED are plotting a late deadline day swoop for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic, reports claim.
The Red Devils are allegedly in talks with the Italians over a deal for the veteran 33-year-old.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who is in Milan finalising his move to Inter.
Now claims United are weighing up a late swoop for Mandzukic.
They are believed to have been monitoring the Croatian forward for some time and held discussions with Juve earlier in the window over the star.
And now they could be about to try and push through a cut-price transfer ahead of today’s 5pm cut-off.
Mandzukic scored ten times in all competitions for Juventus last season.
But he has lost his central striking role following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo and is open to leaving.
Solskjaer has been monitoring a number of forwards to bolster his attack.

And he has also been linked with Lyon's Moussa Dembele.
Meanwhile Athletic Bilbao's Inaki Williams has also emerged as a late target for United.
However a deal seems extremely unlikely due to his £81m release fee.
