Paulo Dybala’s Tottenham transfer collapses after Juventus have sudden change of heart and opt NOT to sell £65m forward

PAULO DYBALA'S £65million move to Tottenham has collapsed after Juventus had a sudden change of heart - opting to keep the forward.

The Argentine star, 25, was first set to move to Manchester United, as part of the proposed Romelu Lukaku swap deal, then Spurs.

But now, it appears Dybala will be staying with the Serie A champions after Juventus' latest decision.

Last night, it as reported the forward had agreed personal terms with Tottenham - with the deal held up only by the star's image rights.

Dybala's agent Jorge Antun had tried to charge Man Utd £13.7m to negotiate the image rights issue with a third party - Malta-based Star Image Company.

The "disgraceful" request led to United pulling out of a deal for the Argentine, leaving Tottenham in pole position.

This morning, it was said Juve would pay to push through the transfer to Spurs.

POCH SHOT

But now, the Serie A champions - now lead by former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri - have opted to cling on to the talented forward, dealing Mauricio Pochettino a major deadline day blow.

Dybala's wages had appeared to be a sticking point for United, with the Argentine demanding a whopping £350,000-a-week.

That is in spite of the fact a host of Man Utd's top-earners saw their pay cut by 25 per cent over the summer after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Elsewhere, Spurs are also out of the running to sign Bruno Fernandes - as Tottenham and United's summer targets continue to overlap.

Sporting Lisbon's price tag on attacking midfielder Fernandes was deemed to be too high.

Even if they sell Christian Eriksen - who wants a move to Spain, despite interest from Man Utd - Spurs are unlikely to have time to complete a deal for the Portuguese acea.

English clubs have until 5pm to complete deals, with European sides able to make use of the rest of the month.
