Philippe Coutinho rejects Spurs transfer and would only return to Premier League for old club Liverpool
PHILIPPE COUTINHO has reportedly decided that a move to Tottenham Hotspur is of no interest to him.
Barcelona agreed to loan the Brazilian back to the Premier League on Wednesday, it has been claimed.
However, TalkSPORT claim that Coutinho would only return to England if it meant reuniting with former side Liverpool.
He is thus expected to stay and fight for his place at the Camp Nou this season.
Barcelona were happy to let the player go with the La Liga champions open to sending him on loan, while earlier in the summer they offered him to PSG as part of a deal to sign Neymar.
Having bought Antoine Griezmann for £108million, the Catalans were unable to splash out on Neymar and considered creative ways of signing the Brazilian - including the offer of his compatriot.
Last season saw Coutinho struggle to find the form Barcelona hoped for when agreeing a deal worth £146m with Liverpool 18 months ago.
In 54 outings, he registered just five assists and 11 goals in all competitions.

The Anfield club appear to have no intention of signing him and Spurs quickly moved their attention elsewhere after the snub.
Mauricio Pochettino's side will pay £55m for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso when he puts pen to paper on Thursday.
And left-back Ryan Sessegnon is also a top target for a move from Fulham but the deal to sign Paulo Dybala is said to be hitting the rocks.
