Spurs arrive for training amid transfer deadline day chaos with Dybala off, Lo Celso on and Sessegnon move in the balance

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR players came to work this morning not knowing how many new faces they could be joined by tomorrow.

Transfer deadline day saw the North London club hard at work trying to push several deals over the line.

Having missed out on Philippe Coutinho and decided against a deal for Bruno Fernandes, Spurs were ready for some good news.

As the likes of Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld - who were both linked to moves away -  turned up for work, another man being put through his paces by club staff was Giovani Lo Celso.

The Real Betis midfielder underwent a medical today as part of his £55million switch.

Their interest was advanced after Coutinho rejected the chance to arrive on loan from Barcelona.

It is said the Brazilian will only return to the Premier League if Liverpool come in for him.

Another collapsed deal involved Juventus forward Paulo Dybala.

Initially struggling due to an image rights complication, the Bianconeri reportedly offered to help pay the Argentine's wages to help get his switch over the line.

It quickly emerged that the transfer was off, put down to a sudden change of heart by his current team.

RY RY RY?

The biggest confusion around Tottenham comes from the planned arrival of Ryan Sessegnon.

With the wing-back out of contract at the end of the season, a deal worth £30m was said to have been agreed - Josh Onomah going the other way in the process.

However, Daily Mirror most recently put the move in doubt as talks between the clubs hit an impasse.

Sessegnon could replace Danny Rose after the England international was the subject of interest from Watford.

And young defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is another on the way out, with a £6m switch to Stoke on the cards.
