ARSENAL have taken their summer spending spree to £141million with the signings of David Luiz and Kieran Tierney subject to medicals.
Yet they have still managed to stay within their £45m budget thanks to carefully structured repayment arrangements and player sales.
And they haven’t even increased their annual wage bill after fretting all summer about breaking financial fair play rules.
Luiz, 32, is set to complete a stunning £8million move from Chelsea after agreeing a two-year contract worth around £120,000-a-week.
And Scottish international Tierney is finally on his way to the Emirates after Celtic accepted a £25million bid for their 22-year-old left-back.
The Gunners have already smashed their club record transfer fee to sign £72million Nicolas Pepe from Lille and have also paid £27million for William Saliba, £6million for Gabriel Martinelli and a £3million loan fee for Dani Ceballos.
But they are only paying £20million this year for Pepe and £6million for Saliba, who has been allowed to stay at St.Etienne on loan for the forthcoming season.

And they have also raised around £30million by selling skipper Laurent Koscielny as well as Carl Jenkinson, Krystian Bielik, David Ospina, Dominic Thompson, Ismael Bennacer, Xavier Amaechi and Takuma Asano.
Remarkably, they have even managed to maintain their annual wage bill at around £230million after releasing big earners Aaron Ramsey, Petr Cech and Danny Welbeck while selling the likes of Koscielny and Jenkinson.
Their annual outlay will be further reduced by Eddie Nketiah’s loan move to Leeds while young left-back Dominic Thompson has been sold to Brentford for a fee in the region of £3million.
