report the England international is at the Hornets training ground with talks over a move set to take place.

Rose was sent out on loan to Watford in 2009 with then manager Brendan Rodgers - who gave the full-back seven appearances.

The defender's potential return to Vicarage Road opens the door for Fulham left-back Ryan Sessegnon to complete his £30million move to Spurs.

Today it was reported Tottenham had agreed a deal with the West London club for the 22-year-old.

The North London side will pay an initial £25m up front to the Championship club and will send Josh Onomah to Craven Cottage in return.

A further £5m will be paid depending on performance-related incentives.

The left-back headed to Enfield this morning to undergo a medical and agree personal terms.

Spurs sold right-back Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid for £20m earlier in the window - with Serge Aurier also up for sale.
