On top of his mega-money move to Italy, United splashed around £75m on Lukaku to bring him in from Everton in 2017.

According to figures from Transfermarkt, those moves - along with his moves from Anderlecht to Chelsea and the Blues to Everton stick him third in the all-time most expensive player, with an overall tally of £183m.

Neymar leads the way on the at front, thanks mostly to his world-record £198m move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

On top of his shockingly expensive move to Spain from Santos, said to reach nearly £80m when all is said and done, that puts him top on a total £278m.

RON OF THE BEST

Cristiano Ronaldo sits second on the list at a total transfer fee of £207m.

The Portuguese star cost Man Utd £17m in 2003, before moving to Real Madrid in an £85m deal in 2009.

Last summer he completed a £99m move to Juventus - as he edges Lukaku into second place on the list.

Kylian Mbappe - with just the one move to his name - comes in second following his £162m move from Monaco to PSG, made permanent in July 2018.
