HACKERS tried to steal £1.9m of Tanguy Ndombele's transfer fee, according to reports.
Ndombele, 22, became Spurs' record buy following his £65m move this summer.
French Ligue 1 side Amiens had a sell-on clause written into Ndombele's contract when he moved to Lyon in 2018.
carry a report saying hackers tried to take about £1.9m of the £12m Amiens were owed from Lyon.
The claim comes from when Amiens were preparing for a pre-season friendly against Leganes.
It is said the club's internal email server was hacked and a £550,000 invoice was intercepted.
An attempt was then made to divert the funds to an account in Spain but the transfer was blocked in time.
It was only after finding out that hackers went for the Ndombele deal that Amiens saw they had been targeted before.
The hackers tried to take a portion of Noam Emeran's transfer fee when he moved to Manchester United in January.
It appears they were unsuccessful.
Ndombele endured no such drama on his Spurs debut.
He scored a wondergoal against Aston Villa to kick-start Mauricio Pochettino's side recovery after going 1-0 down.
Harry Kane delivered the fatal blows with a pair of late strikes in Spurs’ 3-1 win.
Ndombele spoke of the difference between the Premier League and Ligue 1 after the game.
