MAURIZIO SARRI missed summer signing Aaron Ramsey make his Juventus debut as the manager was ill with a virus.
The former Arsenal midfielder came off the bench against Triestina as the Serie A champions won 1-0.
Ex-Chelsea manager Sarri - who swapped West London for Turin this summer - missed the friendly due to illness.
The new Juve boss did not risk further damage ahead of the Italian champion’s opening league game against Parma on Saturday.
Sarri will return to training on Monday.
Still left to resolve this summer are the futures of Paulo Dybala and Sami Khedira.
Khedira infuriated Juve chiefs by snubbing multiple transfers this window, including offers from the MLS and Wolves.
The German international was holding out for a move to Arsenal which ultimately fell through before the English deadline day.
Wantaway forward Dybala, who scored the winner against Triestina, also saw a switch to the Premier League collapse.
Manchester United agreed a deal to sign the 25-year-old this summer, but Old Trafford chiefs were unwilling to meet the forward’s wage demands.
